Soft-sealed butterfly valves are widely used in water treatment, HVAC, food, medicine and other industries because of their good sealing performance and flexible opening and closing. In order to ensure its long-term stable operation, regular maintenance and maintenance should be carried out. The following are common maintenance methods for soft-sealed butterfly valves:
1. Daily inspection and maintenance
Regularly check the appearance of the valve: check for corrosion, leakage, damage and other problems.
Check the sealing performance: observe whether there is internal or external leakage after opening and closing the valve.
Keep clean: regularly remove dust and dirt on the surface of the valve to prevent impurities from affecting the operation.
2. Lubrication and operation part maintenance
Manual mechanism or actuator inspection: whether the rotation is flexible, whether there is jamming or abnormal sound.
Appropriately add lubricant: especially in the transmission screw or gear and other parts to ensure smooth opening and closing.
Avoid strong operation: do not force the valve to close with a lever to avoid damaging the sealing surface.
3. Maintenance and replacement of soft seals
Inspection of soft seals: Regularly check whether rubber, PTFE and other seals are aging, cracking or deformed.
Replace them in time if aging is found: to avoid leakage of media due to seal failure.
Avoid contact with strong acids and alkalis (depending on the material): to avoid corrosion of sealing materials.
4. Inspection of valve body and connection parts
Bolt tightness: Check whether the bolts at the flange connection and the connection between the valve body and the actuator are loose.
Anti-rust treatment: For exposed metal parts, anti-rust spray or coating protection can be performed.
5. Precautions for long-term out of use
Close the valve and clean it;
Seal both ends with blind plates to prevent foreign matter from entering;
Store in a dry and ventilated place to avoid direct sunlight and humid environment that affect the life of the seal.
