Here are the general steps for using a KN95 respirator with a breathing valve:
Before putting on the respirator, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
Identify the top and bottom of the respirator. The metal strip should be on top, and the valve should be on the bottom.
Hold the respirator by the ear loops and place the metal strip over the bridge of your nose.
Pull the bottom of the respirator over your mouth and chin, making sure it covers your nose and mouth.
Adjust the ear loops and nosepiece to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
Breathe in and out to check for any air leaks around the edges of the respirator.
To remove the respirator, grasp the ear loops and pull them away from your ears, avoiding touching the front of the respirator.
Dispose of the used respirator in a closed bin or bag, and wash your hands thoroughly.
Note: KN95 respirators with breathing valves are designed for comfort and ease of breathing, but they may not provide the same level of protection against airborne particles as non-valved respirators. They are generally recommended for use in non-medical settings, such as construction or industrial work, where the risk of exposure to harmful particles is moderate to low. If you are using a KN95 respirator for medical purposes, it is recommended to use a non-valved respirator to ensure maximum protection.
